Programme Coordinator - The University Consortium

A Programme Coordinator is required for a new programme called The University Consortium, an international academic research and exchange programme between six universities in Russia, the EU and the US. St Antony’s College is the host organisation and Carnegie Corp is the funding body.

Rhodes Professor of Race Relations

SCHOOL OF INTERDISCIPLINARY AREA STUDIES in association with St Antony’s College

Start date: 1 October 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The University of Oxford seeks to appoint an outstanding candidate to the Rhodes Professorship in Race Relations. The appointment will be held in the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies at the African Studies Centre, in conjunction with a Governing Body Fellowship at St Antony’s College.

Associate Professorship in African Studies

SCHOOL OF INTERDISCIPLINARY AREA STUDIES in association with St Anne’s College

Grade 10a (36S): from £44,620 p.a.

Applications are invited for appointment to an Associate Professorship in African Studies, to be held in the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies (SIAS), in association with a Non-Tutorial Fellowship at St Anne’s College, with effect from 1 September 2015. The post is full time and upon completion of a successful review, permanent.

Postdoctoral Research Officer in Middle East Studies (x2)

 Grade 7: £30,434-£37,394 per annum

The Middle East Studies Programme in the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies seeks applications from candidates in a social science discipline or modern history, with special reference to the Middle East, for two fixed term postdoctoral positions, funded by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation for 9 months commencing 1 January 2015. The School is looking for the best possible candidates working within the studies of the Middle East with particular reference to Turkey, Iran or Egypt.

SIAS vacancy: Interim Finance Officer Fixed Term (initially until 31st July 2014)

Grade 5: £23,352 to £27,854 per annum (with a discretionary range to £30,424)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual with excellent financial, communication and organisational skills, who would like the opportunity to work in this busy environment. You will be the first point of contact for all finance queries and your responsibilities will include the transactional work for purchase orders, receipting, invoicing and expenses, petty cash management and regular reporting activities.

Call for Papers: Researching Africa Day 2018

African Studies Beyond the Binary: Critical Encounters at the Intersection

Researching Africa Day is a conference for graduate students, and abstract submissions are welcome from graduate students only.

Saturday 3 March 2018. St Antony’s College, University of Oxford.

Abstract submissions are due by midnight of Friday 19 January 2018. Abstracts may vary between 150 and 350 words, and be attached as a PDF or Microsoft Word document. The document should specify the applicant’s university, full name, email address and the topic or topics to which they think the paper would best belong. They should be submitted to RADOxford2018@gmail.com.
