Speaker: Karen Racine, University of Guelph, Canada
Karen Racine is associate professor of Latin American history at the University of Guelph in Canada. She is the author of Francisco de Miranda, a Transatlantic Life in the Age of Revolution, and co-editor of Strange Pilgrimages: Strange Pilgrimages: Travel, Exile, and National Identity in Latin America 1800-1990s, and two volumes of short biographies: The Human Tradition in the Atlantic World, 1500-1850 and The Human Tradition in the Black Atlantic, 1500-2000. She is subject editor for the Atlantic World for the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Latin American History. Her articles have appeared in The Americas, Hispanic American Historical Review, Journal of Genocide Studies, Paedagogica Historica, Bulletin of Latin American Research among other places.
