The agreement between the University of Oxford Brazilian Studies Programme, the Instituto Rio Branco and the Brazilian higher education agency CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) will bring to Oxford, for three months every year, a senior Brazilian academic specializing in the international relations of Brazil. The successful candidate will be based at the Brazilian Studies Programme and will conduct research and organize academic events on the international emergence of Brazil.

The President of CAPES, Jorge Almeida Guimarães and His Excellency, Ambassador Roberto Jaguaribe signed the agreement alongside the Vice Chancellor. The agreement was made possible by a generous gift from Mr. Rajeev Misra.
