The Forum on Health, Environment and Development, of which SIAS research fellow Jennifer Holdaway is Co-Director, held its 9th Annual Meeting in Beijing on November 10-11.

On Wednesday, 15th November, the School and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office co-hosted an East Asia Dialogue in St Antony’s College with a delegation of influential thinkers from India who work on China and East Asia.

We are seeking an HR Officer who will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the HR function for the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies and Social Policy and Intervention. You will provide essential support, advice and guidance to the two Departments on HR-related matters including: personnel, recruitment, work permits and visas. This is a full-time, permanent position.
REES Academics Visit Moscow for Research and to Observe Events Related to the 100th Anniversary of the Great Bolshevik Revolution of 1917
On Sunday 5th October Professors Chris Davis and Chris Gerry of REES travelled to Moscow together for academic work related to their joint and individual projects on economics of health and health reform in Russia.

Jonny Steinberg and Olly Owen receive British Academy Award
Dr Jonny Steinberg, together with doctoral student Olly Owen, has received an award from the British Academy's International Partnership and Mobility Scheme. Steinberg and Owen will use the award to bring two scholars of African policing to Oxford for an extended period.
Applications are now open for entry in 2012/13.

Davis Tarwater wins gold at London 2012 as part of the USA's 4x200m freestyle relay team
After missing the 2008 Olympics by one spot, Davis retired from swimming and came to Oxford for one year in 2009-2010, during which time he completed the MSc Latin American Studies.
