On 15th October 2013, the LAC held a roundtable discussion on the legacy of the Chilean military coup of 11th September 1973, which deposed the elected Socialist president Dr Salvador Allende and led to 17 years of military dictatorship by General Augusto Pinochet.

Hindi "in situ" is an introduction to the Hindi language for fieldworkers and researchers which offers to provide a basic ability to read, write and speak the language as it is used in everyday life in India.

On 4th October 2013, Dr Timothy Power (Director, Brazilian Studies Programme) visited the Institute of Latin America (ILA) of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. Dr Power gave a lecture on Brazil’s street protests of 2013 to an audience of about 30 ILA faculty and students.
On October 4th 2013, the CPP team visited the National University Higher School of Economics (HSE) in Moscow, Russia, where it debated the early results of the project along with faculty and students of the Department of Comparative Politics.
